Earlier this week we helped organize a local teacher's art room. She moved into the space a few months ago but wasn't able to get much work done because she couldn't find her tools and supplies. The room is long and narrow, which made navigation even more tricky. We focused on keeping the area near the window open to allow natural light in, and kept one wall clear to create the illusion of a wider area. We spent 2 hours on the project: we removed everything and got rid of items that were no longer useful, sorted remaining supplies, and organized according to frequency of use. By utilizing existing metro shelving and simple cardboard boxes we didn't need to spend any extra budget on organization supplies.
